User Features
Feature Description
Avatars Registered users can add an avatar image in their messages.
Buddy List The buddy list is a simple address book for keeping your forum buddies contact information.
Bookmark A user can bookmark topics of interest, thereby easily accessing them at a later time.
Editing Capability Users can edit their own messages.
Ignore List Users may add other users to an ignore list, which will prevent the ignored users from sending private messages or emailing them from the forum.
Polls Users may post poll questions.
Private Inbox Private inbox is an internal messaging feature that allows registered users to communicate with one another without using their email system. This system enhances the forum user privacy by providing a way of communicating with other users without disclosing email addresses.
Profiles A user can setup a profile containing self-information. This profile is then viewable by other registered users. A user can, however, hide his/her profile in their preference settings.
Preferences A set of forum preferences can be set by a registered user to optimize his/her experience.
Search Search for particular topics or posts.
Signatures Similar to email signatures, registered users can define their signatures in their profiles. This signature is then appended to every message they post.

Topic Subscriptions Registered users may elect to subscribe to a topic, which allows them to receive email notifications when a new message is posted to the topics of interest.
Topic Ratings Users can rate topics to indicate which topics are good reading and which are not.
Hot Topics Hot topics indicate topics with number of replies exceeding a threshold set by the administrator. They are indicated by an animated gif image of a flame.
Collapsed view/Expanded view In fully threaded discussion mode, the user may elect to view the topic listing in collapsed view or expanded view.
User Rating System Registered users may rate other registered users, giving them positive, neutral, or negative scores. These scores are then used to give users a total points and star icons next to their names.
Who's Online Allows users to list of users who has had access to the forum in last x hours.
Keeping Track of New Messages Registered users have two ways to keep track of new messages. 1, by the date of their last visit or 2, the last time they time MARKED the forum. This option is selectable for each registered user in the user preference settings.
Email a Topic to a Friend Users can email a topic to a friend directly from the forum.
Topic Type Users can categorize their postings to indicate what type of posting they are submitting.
Administrator Features
Feature Description
Ban users Ban users from the forum by their IP address.
Localized date/time Administrators can set the forum to their local date and time.
Customizable Select page font, font color, background, link colors and add your own HTML to wrap the content of all pages.
Anchored Topics Administrator only can anchor topics. Anchored topics remain at the beginning of topic listings.
Locked Topics Administrator only can lock/unlock topics. A locked topic is READ-ONLY. No replies are allowed.
Moderation Require approval of all posts to the forum by the Administrator or Administrator-designated moderators.
Multiple Security Settings The Forum may be setup as:
  • Public - anyone may participate fully, without registering
  • Protected - anyone may view what is posted on the forum, but registration is required to post
  • Restricted - everyone must register to both view and post and the administrator must approve all registrations
  • Private - everyone must register to both view and post, the administrator must approve all registrations, and the administrator or a moderator must approve access to the specific forum. Applies only to accounts with multiple forums and must be configured manually by the Support Team.
These settings may be changed at any time.
Online Community Integration Online Community members are automatically registered with the forum. Members of restricted communities may participate in the forum from within the community without having to login to the forum.
User Registration Notification Administrator receives an email notification whenever a new user registers with the forum.
New Thread Notification Administrator and moderators (if applicable) receive an email notification whenever a new thread is posted to the forum.
Set moderators Appoint other users to be forum moderators.
